Hello! This site is dedicated to my wife, who went to be with the Lord in June of 2021. She came up with the idea for this website months before she went to be with Christ, because of her desire to spread the gospel of her Lord and Savior. The interest of my wonderful wife was not money, popularly or fame, but simply to give to others the good news of forgiveness of sins through Jesus Christ, who “ died for our sins ( 1 Cor 15:1/5). I pray you will take her message seriously.
We are glad you are contacting us. First of all I would like to make it clear that we are here to help you and to hopefully answer your questions. Secondly, we will in no way contact you if you do not desire any interaction. Though at times truth can be uncomfortable (such as a doctor informing a patient that they have a life-threatening disease), our purpose is to help you in your search to finding the truth. Our goal is to provide clear Bible answers apart from denominational viewpoints or popular modern thoughts. Sadly there has been confusion in the area of “religion” and some have just given up trying to understand spiritual issues. We hope and pray that we can take away that confusion for you! Again please remember that the answers provided may not be what you expect or what you have heard from the media, family, friends, your teachers or professors. With that said, we thank you for coming to the site!
The Most Important Question!
What is the most important question? When people really think about it, most conclude that the most important question is, “What happens to me after I die?” It really does make sense as any other question that a person can ask is regarding the temporary. Consider that a person commonly lives 70, 80, 90 years and sometimes more. Those numbers are such a small amount compared to a million years or more. Yet eternity according to the Bible is forever! Perhaps you have never truly considered where you will spend eternity but the importance of the “where” certainly makes it something to be concerned about.
1. The first truth from the scriptures concerning this issue is that all of us will die. That death will happen is a truth that few if any would debate. We all know people who have passed from this life, possibly those in our immediate or extended family, co-workers or friends. The Bible states plainly, “It is appointed unto men once to die...” Hebrews 9:27. Many tend to put off thinking about this because they are fearful of death, while others tend to be so distracted with this life they never allow their mind to seriously contemplate it.
2. The second truth is that both heaven and hell are real places and every individual upon death will go to one or the other. Jesus spoke of heaven in John 14:1-4 as he told his followers, “I go to prepare a place for you.” The promise from the most quoted verse in the Bible is that some will have “everlasting life” and be with Christ forever. And despite what the media would have you think the fact is that there is a place called hell, which is actually temporary and a permanent abode called the “lake of fire.” Both have similar characteristics such as darkness and flames as we see in Luke 16:19-21 and Revelation 20:20.
3. The third truth is that all persons, regardless of sex, race, color, religion, background or upbringing will be judged by the Lord Jesus Christ. In fact, remember that verse we looked at in the very first truth that everyone will eventually die? Let us look at the rest of that scripture, “And as It is appointed unto men once to die, but after this the judgment:” Judgment will come to all of us including you and I. There is no running from it or “wishing” it away.
4. The next truth is that the judgement mentioned in the last point will determine “where” you will spend eternity. Some will be with Christ forever in a place where there is no pain, no suffering and no tears (Rev 21:1-4), while many more will be cast into a Hell, a place of literal physical torment, from which there is no escape. (Rev. 20:10-15). The familiar statement that many like to utter that they will party with their friends in hell, is a lie. The lake of fire has no positive qualities and among other things souls there will experience loneliness and no doubt much shame, guilt and regret.
5. The fifth point is that all have sinned and that being the case, no one in their natural state can enter heaven. Most people want to differentiate between “big sins” and “little sins” but what really matters is that every person born on the earth, other than the Lord Jesus Christ, has sinned. Be it a lie, pride, lust, dishonesty, stealing, fornication, adultery, homosexuality, we are all guilty of being sinners. The Bible states that, “all have sinned and come short of the glory of God.” So thats puts us in trouble as God is so holy he will allow no sin in heaven. This is what we would call the bad news.
6. The Lord however, made a way for you and I to be made right with Him. We can have our sins forgiven and become His child. Where the Bible states that sin has caused us to be separated from God (Isaiah 59:2), we can now be reconciled to God. How? Not by religious work, deeds, rituals, masses, water baptisms, giving to charity, etc. The solution to the sin problem is the good news that Christ died for YOUR sins. You and I are guilty before God but Christ died in your place. He willingly gave his life for you. Christ, God in the flesh lived a perfect sinless life, was crucified on a cruel cross and was buried and resurrected. Romans 5:8,9 tells us, “ But God commendeth his love toward us, in that, while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us. Much more then, being now justified by his blood, we shall be saved from wrath through him.” Also, “ For if, when we were enemies, we were reconciled to God by the death of his Son, much more, being reconciled, we shall be saved by his life,” seen in the same chapter. What an amazing truth and a beautiful fact! Here we are, lost sinners that have offended the Holy God of the Bible, the Creator of the heavens and the earth, and yet Christ DIED IN OUR PLACE. We, you and I deserve His judgment, yet “
To wit, that God was in Christ, reconciling the world unto himself, not imputing their trespasses unto them; and hath committed unto us the word of reconciliation.” And “ For he hath made him to be sin for us, who knew no sin; that we might be made the righteousness of God in him.” He loved you and I so much that He died in our place, paid for our sins, was buried and rose again!
7. The seventh and final truth is that the way for a person to have Christ’s death put to his account is by placing their faith in Jesus Christ alone. Man’s way is to attempt to earn their way to heaven by works but the Lord’s way is that Christ did the work FOR us by dying on the cross and being the payment for our sin. The scripture states, “But to him that worketh not, but believeth on him that justifieth the ungodly, his FAITH is counted for righteousness.’ (Romans 4:5). When a person comes to Christ and trusts him alone to be their Savior, they are given eternal life and are saved from the penalty of sin and will be in a right standing with God. True BELIEF on Christ saves! “He that believeth on him is not condemned,” we are told in the beginning of John 3:18. “ Believe on the Lord Jesus Christ and thou shalt be saved.” I pray you will take this seriously and come to Christ. Get alone with God, who knows your thoughts, motives and actions and yet He still loves you. Admit you are lost and in need of Him. See yourself as a sinner in need of a Savior. Then BELIEVE ON Him. Trust Him as your personal Savior.
I often use the illustration that I was walking on my own path. I was doing what I wanted and not caring at all about eternity. I was on the road to Hell. One day I was confronted by the cross and realized I was a sinner with no way to rid myself of my sin. That is when I accepted Christ's death on the cross as my only way to Heaven and I turned around and started walking in another direction. I now was following Christ and allowing Him to guide and direct me. Was I perfect? No, but my desires and direction changed.
